Dramaturg's
Workshop

Dramaturgy
Dramaturgy is any and all of the elements that make up an event and how they build meaning for an audience.
Dramaturgy is the anatomy and reception of the experience.
And this can be any event: play, song, conference speech, eulogy, wedding toast...
Anywhere that meaning is projected and received by an audience.

A Dramaturg
Someone with discipline, skill and experience in analysing how the elements of an event build meaning, work together, and are received by an audience.
Someone who has sought to understand what the creators are trying to achieve and uses a set of analytic tools to understand the event better in order to reflect and ask questions of the writers. A supportive companion to the writing process.
What actually is dramaturgy and what does a dramaturg do?
